1.2311 is a pre-hardened plastic mold steel supplied at 32–36 HRC. It offers good machinability and general polishability, with material quality just below 718H and lower nickel content, making it a cost-effective choice for standard plastic molds. It is suitable for plastic mold applications where surface brightness and gloss requirements are not extremely high. Steel blocks can be cut to size according to customer drawings.
