    Mold Steels

    Injection Mold Steels

Select suitable mold steel based on your plastic material, production volume and appearance requirements, balancing service life, corrosion resistance and surface finish.

    Prehardened cavity and core steel

    P20

    Supply Condition & Hardness
Prehardened supply; a common reference is 28–32 HRC, subject to the mill certificate.
    Machinability
Machining can usually be planned in the supplied condition.
    Polishing & Texturing
Suitable for general polishing and texturing; approve the target finish on a sample.
    Corrosion Resistance
Rust protection is required; use a corrosion-resistant grade when the resin or environment demands it.
    Wear Resistance
Assess production volume, fillers and local wear before selection.
    Suitable Applications
General plastic housings and structural parts.

    Quality Control

    Injection Mold Quality Control

From steel selection to mold trials, we check mold dimensions, movements and sample quality. We make adjustments and repeat trials when needed, then deliver after your confirmation.

    1. Steel & Hardness

We check the steel grade, material certificates and hardness requirements against the agreed mold specification.

    2. Machining & Assembly

We inspect critical dimensions of cavities and mold components, check opening, sliding and ejection movements, and verify cooling-water flow and leak tightness.

    3. Mold Trials & Samples

We inspect sample dimensions, appearance and assembly requirements, looking for flash, sink marks and warpage. When adjustments are needed, we modify the mold and repeat the trial.

    4. Acceptance & Delivery

After you confirm the samples and inspection results, we provide the agreed drawings, material certificates and trial records, then prepare corrosion protection and packaging for delivery.

Learn about mold costs, manufacturing lead times, design changes, trial acceptance and delivery arrangements. Have another question? Send your product drawings and requirements so we can assess a mold solution and prepare a quote.

    Get a Mold Quote
How much does a custom injection mold cost? +
The cost depends on the part geometry, number of cavities, mold steel, runner system, and surface finish. Send your drawings and project requirements so we can assess the mold and prepare a quote.
When can I receive a quote and first trial samples? +
Once we have the drawings and project requirements, we provide review feedback within 24 hours. The quote and first mold trial schedule are confirmed after assessment. Final delivery also depends on any adjustments and your approval.
What if my product design needs changes before mold making? +
We review the design for mold manufacturing and identify areas that may affect molding, appearance, or ejection. Proposed changes are discussed with you before the mold design is finalized.
How is the mold checked before delivery? +
We check mold operation and trial samples against the agreed dimensional, appearance, and functional requirements. If adjustments are needed, the mold is revised and tested again. Delivery follows your approval; inspection records and documents are agreed for the project.
Who owns the mold, and how is it delivered? +
Mold ownership and any storage or use arrangements are specified in the contract. For delivery, we confirm the destination, packing, and documents with you before shipment.
Will design changes add cost or affect the schedule? +
The quote defines the included scope. If a design change falls outside it, we assess the additional work and confirm any cost or schedule changes with you before proceeding.
