Why Mold Steel Machining Requires These 6 Essential Steps — None Can Be Omitted

How is mold steel processed? Today, we will take you through it. What people usually see is either dark, black-coated steel stock or small processed steel blocks with a strong metallic texture and a smooth surface, but few people know what these materials have actually gone through. Here, we list the internal process of MoldSteelLS for everyone to see:

1. First, the raw steel material is placed on the sawing machine and cut according to customer requirements until it reaches the specified dimensions required by the customer.

2. Then, a gantry milling machine is used for initial rough milling on two surfaces of the steel, machining the surface to a certain size.

3. A CNC grinding machine is used for precision finishing on both surfaces to ensure flatness.

4. The side burrs are finish-milled to achieve the required squareness and dimensional accuracy.

5. Finally, the dimensions are measured and quality inspection is carried out.

6. Laser marking is then performed to indicate the dimensions and steel grade.

7. For domestic shipment in China, the products are bundled and secured with packing straps; for international shipment, they are bundled with packing straps and packed in wooden crates.

The above is the basic processing flow of mold steel from raw material to finished product shipment. Every process is related to the dimensional accuracy and application performance of the steel. Only through strict control can customer requirements be met.
