With a quenching hardness of 55–58 HRC, CR12 hardware stamping die steel is a ledeburitic steel. With little distortion from quenching, it has outstanding wear resistance, high hardenability, and high hardness after quenching. Under low-impact loads, it works well with parts like cold stamping die punches and dies, as well as cold extrusion die cavities.
